A RESOLUTION URGING THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL
HALL OF FAME COMMITTEE TO STRONGLY CON-
SIDER ERNIE SEILER FOR MEMBERSHIP FOR ALL
THE ACHIEVEMENTS HE HAS ACCOMPLISHED TOWARD
THE GROWTH OF COLLEGE FOOTBALL TO THE
POSITION IT HOLDS TODAY IN THE HEARTS OF
ALL SPORTS FANS• THROUGHOUT THE NATION
WHEREAS, Ernie Seiler, as Executive Director of the
Orange Bowl Committee, has contributed immeasurably to the
growth of college football through the annual Orange Bowl
New Year's Classic; and
WHEREAS, Ernie Seiler has focused national attention
on college football, thus adding to the prestige and growth
of the sport, through the annual Orange Bowl Game and
Festival seen by millions on television, heard by millions
on radio and read by many more millions in newspapers and
magazines in the United States as well as overseas; and
WHEREAS, Ernie Seiler is being considered for the
College Football Hall of Fame for his many outstanding ac-
complishments while serving as Executive Director of the
Orange Bowl Committee; and
WHEREAS, Ernie Seiler's achievements have brought
wide -spread fame and honor to the City of Miami and its
Orange Bowl;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
That the Miami City Commission does hereby go on record
as urging the College Football Hall of Fame Committee to
strongly consider Ernie Seiler for membership for all the

achievements he has accomplished toward the growth of
college football to the position it holds today in the
hearts of all sports fans throughout the nation.

PASSED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of September,
I, H. D. SOUTHERN, Clerk of the City of
Miami, Florida, do hereby certify that
the above and foregoing pages numbered
1 and 2 contain a true and correct copy
of a resolution unanimously passed and
adopted by the Miami City Commission at
a meeting held on the 27th day of Septem-
ber, 1974, and designated Resolution No.
74-1092.
