A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO HAVE AN
INDEPENDENT PROFESSIONAL APPRAISAL PREPARED TO ESTABLISH
THE FAIR MARKET VALUE OF THE 60.6 ACRE VIRGINIA KEY
PARCEL PROPOSED FOR ACQUISITION BY THE NIAMI-DADS WATER
AND SEWER AUTHORITY FOR THE EXPANSION OF THE VIRGINIA
KEY WASTE WATER DISPOSAL PLANT; AND SETTING FORTH THE
METHOD OF PAYING FOR THE COST OF THIS APPRAISAL.
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dads Water and Sewer Authority has proposed
the expansion of the waste water treatment plant facilities at Virginia
Key; and
WHEREAS, the 60.6 acre tract of land owned by the City of Miami
lying northwardly of the existing waste water treatment plant property, has
been designated as the property most desirable for the expansion of the waste
water treatment facilities; and
WHEREAS, the Miami -Dade Water and Sewer Authority has offered to
purchase said tract of land from the citizens of the City of Miami.; and
WHEREAS, it is deemed desirable that an independent professional
appraisal be obtained setting forth the fair market value of this property;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COI'MISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIA14I, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to have an
independent professional appraisal prepared to establish the fair market value
of the 60.6 acre Virginia Key parcel proposed for acquisition for the expansion
of the Virginia Key waste water disposal plant.
Section 2. That the City Manager is further authorized to utilize
funds from the Contingent Fund to defray the cost of said independent
professional appraisal, with said funds to be reimbursed to the Contingent
Fund from the proceeds of the sale to the Miami -Dade Water and Sewer
Authority when such sale occurs.
