RESOLUTION NO. 7 e. -Ave
A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE ENACTMENT OF METRO-
POLITAN DADE COUNTY'S PROPOSED ORDINANCE,
CHAPTER 8A, ARTICLE IV OF THE CODE OP METRO-
POLITAN DADE COUNTY, ENTITLED "COMMUNITY
ANTENNA TELEVISION SYSTEMS"; PROTESTING DADE
COUNTY'S PRE-EMPTION OF RIGHTS OP MUNICIPALITIES
IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF COUNTY CONTROL OF
COMMUNITY ANTENNA TELEVISION SERVICE IN BOTH
THE INCORPORATED AND UNINCORPORATED AREAS OF
DADE COUNTY.
WHEREAS, Dade County has proposed an ordinance, Chapter
8A, Article IV of the Code of Metropolitan Dade County entitled
"Community Antenna Television Systems" which provides for
County control of Community Antenna Television Service to all
incorporated and unincorporated areas of Dade County; and
WHEREAS, the enactment of this ordinance would be the
initial step in the curtailment of the franchise right of
municipalities; and
WHEREAS, the Commission of the City of Miami desires
to go on record as being opposed to the enactment of the aforesaid
ordinance;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Opposition be, and is hereby, expressed
against the enactment of a proposed ordinance by the Commission
of Metropolitan Dade County, Chapter 8A, Article IV of the Code
of Metropolitan Dade County entitled "Community Antenna Television
Systems."

the rights of municipalities in the establishment of County
control of Community Antenna Television Service in both the
incorporated and unincorporated areas of Dade County.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby requested to
send a copy of this resolution to the Dade County Commission,
reflecting the opposition of the City Commission to the pro-
posed ordinance.
