A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING THE ACTIONS OF THE
CITY MANAGER IN MODIFYING THE AGREEMENT FOR
ESTABLISHMENT OF AFTER SCHOOL CARE DEMON-
STRATION CENTERS IN THE CITY OF MIAMI, BY
EXTENDING THE EFFECTIVE DATE OF THIS AGREE-
MENT UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, 1974.

WHEREAS, the Miami City Commission by Ordinance No. 8192
appropriated certain revenue sharing funds to establish an after school care
demonstration center program in the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, this said after school care program has been well received
and provided needed assistance to citizens of the City of Miami; and
WHEREAS, the agreement scheduled the demonstration program to
end on August 9, 1974; and
WHEREAS, Community School principals, coordinators, staff, and
the Dade County Public Schools administration have recommended the extension
of this program until September 30, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager did modify the agreement after determining
that such extension could be accomplished within the original $150, 000 fund
allocation and was in the best interest of the citizens of the City of Miami;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the actions of the City Manager in modifying the
agreement for establishment of after school care demonstration centers in the
City of Miami by extending the effective date of this agreement until September
30, 1974, are hereby confirmed.
