A RESOLUTION AUTHORISING# TIE DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO PAY TO BERTHA LEVY AND
MAURICE I. LEVY, HER HUSBAND, WITHOUT
THE ADMISSION OF LIABILITY, THE SUM
OF $600.00 IN FULL AND COMPLETE SETTLE-
MENT OF THEIR CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY
OF MIAMI FOR ALLEGED PERSONAL INJURIES
SUSTAINED BY MRS. BERTHA LEVY, UPON THE
EXECUTION OF A RELEASE RELEASING THE
CITY OF MIAMI FROM ALL CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, the Plaintiffs, Bertha Levy and Maurice I.
Levy, her husband, filed an action against the City of
Miami in the Circuit Court of Dade County, bearing
Number 71-17983, alleging that Mrs. Bertha Levy suffered
injuries due to a fall on a negligently maintained City
of Miami sidewalk, at or near N. W. 79th Street and Second
Avenue on September 22, 1970; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the
Office of the City Attorney and said office recommends that
this claim be settled for the sum of $600.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance be and he is
hereby directed to pay to Bertha Levy and Maurice I. Levy,
her husband, without the admission of liability, the sum of
$600.00 in full and complete settlement of their claim
against the City of Miami for alleged personal injuries
sustained by Mrs. Bertha Levy, upon the execution of a release
releasing the City of Miami from all claims and demands.
