A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED CONSTRUC- 4'14
TION OF L. C. MORRIS, INC. FOR THE CONSTRUCTION 4600
OF REID ACRES HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H--4349 IN
REID ACRES HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4349
AT A TOTAL COST OF $474,282.85; AUTHORIZING AN
INCREASE OF THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT IN THE
NET AMOUNT OF $6,707.85; ALLOCATING THE ADDI-
TIONAL AMOUNT OF $'6,846.50 FROM THE ACCOUNT
ENTITLED "STORM SEWER BOND FUND;" AND AUTHORIZ-
ING A FINAL PAYMENT OF $53,465.35.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated April 25,
1974 between the City of Miami and L. C. Morris, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed
and L. C. Morris, Inc. has furnished the required documents
certifying that all bills for labor,and materials have been
paid with one exception - authorization has been received from
the contractor to withhold the amount of $2,942 from the final
payment for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days - this
amount being an unsettled claim between the prime contractor
and one of the subcontractors; and
WHEREAS, due to poor soil conditions it was necessary
to add an additional 300 feet of drainage ditch to insure
proper drainage which resulted in an increase in the scope of
the contract in the net amount of $6,707.85; and
WHEREAS, the additional allocation of $6,846.50 is
available from the account entitled "Storm Sewer Bond Fund;" and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing was held September 12, 1974
to hear any objections to the completed improvements and no
objections were sustained;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The completed work performed by L. C.
Morris, Inc. under contract dated April 25, 1974 for the
construction of REID ACRES HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4349 in REID
ACRES HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT H-4349 be, and is hereby,
accepted at a total cost of $474,282.85.
Section 2. Authorization be, and is hereby, given
for an increase of the scope of the contract in the net amount
of $6,707.85.
Section 3. The additional amount of $6,846.50 be,
and is hereby, allocated from the account entitled "Storm Sewer
Bond Fund . "
Section 4. The proper officials of the City of Miami
be, and are hereby, directed to pay L. C. Morris, Inc. a balance
of $50,523.35 withholding from that amount $2,942.00, pending
the receipt of payment of all amounts due to subcontractors
and suppliers in connection with the contract for REID ACRES
HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT H-4349 in REID ACRES HIGHWAY IMPROVEMENT
DISTRICT H. 4349.
