A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIDS RECEIVED
ON JULY 16, 1974, AND AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE
OF PURCHASE ORDERS TO: GRA MBAR ELECTRIC
COMPANY, INC. FOR FURNISHING TELEPHONE
HEADSETS AT A COST OF $2, 235; MOTOROLA COM-
MUNICATION AND ELECTRONICS, INC. FOR FURNISH-
ING A COMMUNICATION SERVICE MONITOR AT A COST
OF $3, 950; AND TECHNICAL COMMUNICATIONS CORP.
FOR FURNISHING A RADIO SCRAMBLING SYSTEM AT
A COST OF $20, 250.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were received
July 16, 1974, for furnishing communications equipment for use by the
Police Department and Communications Department; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty-six potential
suppliers and four bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of Graybar
Electric Company, Inc. be accepted for $2, 235 to furnish telephone headsets;
and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of Motorola
Communication and Electronic, Inc. be accepted for $3, 950 to furnish a
communication service monitor; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of Technical
Communications Corp. be accepted for $20, 250 to furnish a radio scrambling
system to consist of 25 hand-held units, 100 code modules and one base station
unit; and
WHEREAS, the funds for the purchase of this equipment in the
amount of $26, 435 are provided in the LEAA Police Communications Improve-
ment Grant..
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the bids received on July 16, 1974, for furnishing
communications equipment for use by the Police Department and Communica-

Section 2. That the City Manager is authorized and directed to
utilize $26,435 from the LEAA Police Communication Improvement Grant
funds to cover the costs and to have issued purchase orders to:
a. Graybar Electric Company, Inc. for furnishing
telephone headsets at a cost of
b. Motorola C&E, Inc. for furnishing a communica-
tion service monitor at a cost of
c. Technical Communications Corp. for furnishing
