A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID OF CALAVAR
CORPORATION FOR FURNISHING A 150' ELEVATING
PLATFORM WITH OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT SELECTED
FOR USE BY THE MIAMI FIRE DEPARTMENT FOR THE
TOTAL AMOUNT OF $244,318.37; AND WITH THE
QUALIFICATIONS THAT COMPARTMENTI ZATI ON AND
LATTER COMPARTMENTS WILL BE SUB4ECT TO
APPROVAL OF THE CITY OF MIAMI AS INDICATED
IN FIRE DEPARTMENT SPECIFICATIONS AND IN
THEIR LETTER OF AGREEMENT DATED JULY 15,
1974; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DEPARTMENT TO ISSUE
A PURCHASE ORDER FOR SAME, FUNDS HAVING BEEN
PROVIDED UNDER FEDERAL REVENUE SHARING.
WHEREAS, bids were opened July 9, 1974 for furnishing
a 150' Elevating Platform for use by the FIRE DEPARTMENT; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to six (6) potential
suppliers and one (1) bid was received as follows:

WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid
of CALAVAR CORPORATION be accepted at a total cost of $244,318.37
since it is the only responsive bid and further recommends that
an award be made to said corporation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the bid of July 15, 1974 of CALAVAR
CORPORATION for furnishing a 150' Elevating platform with optional
equipment for use by the Miami Fire Department be, and is hereby,
accepted in the total amount of $244,318.37 with the qualifications
that compartmentization and compartments will be subject to
approval by the City of Miami as indicated in Fire Department
Specifications.
