RESOLUTION NO. 7941°
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE
CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH
FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY TO PROVIDE
A MECHANICS OF MANAGEMENT PROGRAM FOR SEVENTY-
FIVE (7 5) MBLECT POLICE PERSONNEL FROM THE
MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT AT A TOTAL COST OP
$24,150 TO BE FUNDED BY AVAILABLE REVENUE SHARING
FUNDS, FURTHER PROVIDING THAT A PAYMENT OP $8,800
BE MADE TO FLORIDA INTERNATIONAL UNIVERSITY UPON
SIGNING OF CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 73-605, the City Manager
was authorized to accept a Federal Grant from the Department of
Justice, Law Enforcement Administration, to initiate a project
entitled MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM; and
WHEREAS, the Third Phase of the program is now ready
to be initiated, utilizing revenue sharing funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized
and directed to enter into a contract with Florida International
University to provide a Mechanics of Management Program for
seventy-five (75) select Police Personnel from the Miami Police
Department at a total cost of $24,150 to be funded by available
revenue sharing funds; said amount representing all of the
expenses of Phase Three, including instructors, secretarial
service, overhead, books and classroom.
Section 2. That upon signing of said contract, a
copy of which is attached hereto, a payment of $8,800, representing
fifty per cent (50%) of the amount due to F.I.U.
