RESOLUTION NO .!?,,
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CONSTRUCTION
OF EXPERIMENTAL CURB ACCESS RAMPS FOR
PEOPLE IN WHEELCHAIRS AT SELECTED SITES,
• TO TEST THEIR EFFECTIVENESS PRIOR TO THEIR
CITY-`f�9Ib8 PLACEMENT •
WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works is in the
process of modifying city sidewalks so they can be more
readily utilized by the handicapped citizens in wheelchairs
and walkers; and
WHEREAS, other cities have discovered that the
design of some curb access ramps has proven to be faulty,
making it extremely difficult to maneuver said ramps in a
wheelchair or walker;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The Department of Public Works is
hereby authorized to construct experimental curb access ramps
for people in wheelchairs at selected sites, to test their
effectiveness prior to their city-wide placement.
