RESOLUTION NO. ri
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING
THE CITY MANAGER AND CITY CLERK TO
EXECUTE AN EXTENSION OF A LEASE AGREE-
MENT, ORIGINALLY DATED FEBRUARY 5, 1971,
BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE
BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB, INC. FOR THE
USE OF THE MIAMI BASEBALL STADIUM DURING
THE 1975 SPRING TRAINING SEASON, SAID
EXTENSION OF LEASE AGREEMENT BEING AT-
TACHED HERETO AND MADE A PART HEREOF.
WHEREAS, on February 5, 1971, THE CITY OF MIAMI
entered into a Lease Agreement with BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB,
INC. for the use of the Miami Baseball Stadium from February 20,
1971 through April 6, 1971, or at the end of the CLUB's Spring
Training Season, whichever date was later; and
WHEREAS, the Lease Agreement contained a provision
that the BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB, INC. shall have the option of
renewing this Lease Agreement from year to year up to and in-
cluding the training season of 1975, provided notice of the
renewal in writing was given to the City Manager of THE CITY OF
MIAMI thirty (30) days prior to July 1st of each year; and
WHEREAS, the BALTIMORE BASEBALL CLUB, INC. has requested
in a writing, dated May 16, 1974, that the Lease Agreement be re-
newed for the 1975 Spring Training Season;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Manager and City Clerk are hereby
authorized and directed to execute an Extension of the Lease
Agreement entered into by the parties on February 5, 1971 for
the use of the Miami Baseball Stadium, said Extension to cover
a period from February 1
April 1 , 19 75
