HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-74-0579#SIC s +fib 7�374 RESOLUTION No.;1001.4-10," A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO URANW FREE USE OF DINNER KEY EXPOSITION HALL TO MIAMI-DADE COMMUNITY COLLEGE, DOWNTOWN CAMPUS, TO CONDUCT HOME VARSITY BASKETBALL GAMES ON DECEMBER 7, 13, AND 20, 1974; AND JANUARY 8, 17, and 29, AND FEBRUARY 5, 8, AND 15, 1975, SUBJECT TO PAYMENT OF EVENT PERSONNEL, LIGHTS, INSURANCE AND OTHER DIRECT COSTS BORNE BY THE CITY, IN AD- DITI0NiTQ A $100.00 FEE PER EVENING FOR SETTING UP AND TAKING DOWN THE BASKETBALL FLOOR AND THE SEATING. WHEREAS, there exists an "Agreement for Leasing Dinner Key Exposition Hall, including Concession Stands, Restaurant and Bar", executed on November 21, 1969 between the City of Miami and George J. MacLean; and WHEREAS, paragraph 8 of said Agreement says, in part, "In no event shall the Lessee permit the rental of any of the facilities without charge"; and WHEREAS, Mr. George MacLean has offered the use of Dinner Key Exposition Hall to Miami -Dade Community College, Downtown campus for conduct of its home varsity basketball games on December 7, 13, and 20, 1974; and January 8, 17, and 29, and February 5, 8, and 15, 1975; and WHEREAS, Mr. Charles Seager, Director of Athletics at Miami Dade Community College, Downtown Campus, requests that the City Commission waive the provision of Mr. MacLean's lease referred to in paragraph 2 above, and the Department of Public Facilities concurs; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The City Manager is hereby authorized and directed to instruct the proper officials of the City of Miami "DOCUMENT T INDEX ITEM NO. G " CITY COMM1SS!ON MEETING OF JUL 11. 1974 RESOLUTION NoZ::-.577,r". to grant free use of Dinner Key Exposition Hall to Miami -Dade Community College, Downtown Campus, in order for them to conduct Home Varsity Basketball Ganges on December 7, 13, and 20, 1974; and 3anuary 8, 17, and 29, and February 5, 8, and 15, 1975, subject to payment of event personnel, lights, insurance and other direct costs borne by the City, including a $100.00 fee per evening for setting up and taking down the basketball floor and the seating.
