A RESOLUTION CONFIRMING AND RATIFYING
THE ACTION OF THE CITY MANAGER IN
APPROVING THE EMERGENCY PURCHASE OF
TWO (2) TRUCK CABS AND CHASSIS FROM THE
GMC TRUCK AND COACH DIVISION, AT A COST
OF NINE THOUSAND, FOUR HUNDRED AND TEN
DOLLARS ($9,410.00) EACH, F.O.B. EVANSVILLE,
INDIANA, SAID EMERGENCY PURCHASE BEING
NECESSITATED BY THE INABILITY OF THE EX-
ISTING CONTRACTOR, THE FORD MOTOR COMPANY,
TO PERFORM ITS OBLIGATION TO DELIVER SAID
EQUIPMENT ON SCHEDULE.
WHEREAS, the City Commission, by Resolution No. 73-951,
authorized the purchase of two (2) truck cabs and .chassis from
the Ford Motor Company; and
WHEREAS, the Ford Motor Company has notified the City
of its inability to deliver said truck cabs and chassis within a
reasonable time, due to parts shortages; and
WHEREAS, the GMC Truck and Coach Division is ready,
willing and able to deliver substitute truck cabs and chassis to
the City; and
WHEREAS, the Ford Motor Company has agreed to issue
credits to the City to the extent of the nonconformity of the
substituted equipment, and to provide conforming equipment when
such equipment becomes available; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager authorized the puchase of the
substitute trucks and chassis on , 1974, so
that the City might meet the scheduled August 1, 1974 commence-
ment of the rubbish call -in service by the Department of Sani-
tation.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the act of the City Manager in author-

izing the purchase by the City of two (2) truck caba and
cpiaasis from the OMC Truck and Coach Divieion, at a cost of
Nine Thousand, Four Hundred and Ten Dcllars ($9,410.00) each,
F.O.B. Evansville, Indiana, is hereby ratified and confirmed.
