A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID OF GEORGE L.
SIMONDS COMPANY POR PURN`.tSHING CAS'TA$LE
REFRACTORIES FOR USE BY THE DEPARTmENP OF
SANITAT/ON AT A COST OF $6, 211.00; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITE' MANAGER TO INSTRUCT
THE PURCHASING DIVISION TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS, AFTER FIRST HAVING DETERMINED THAT
FUNDS BUDGETED FOR THIS PURPOSE ARE
AVAILABLE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice, sealed bids were
received May 7, 1974 for furnishing Castable Refractories for
use by the Department of Sanitation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to eleven (11)
potential suppliers and six (6) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of
George L. Simonds be accepted at a total cost of $6,211.00 since
it is the lowest and best responsive bid and further recommends
that the award be made to said corporation;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received May 7, 1974 from George L.
Simonds for furnishing Castable Refractories for use by the
Department of Sanitation, at a cost of $ 6,211.00, is hereby
accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to
instruct the Purchasing Division to issue Purchase Orders, after
first having determined that funds budgeted for this purpose are
available.
