RESOLUTION NO. /
A RESOLUTION AWARDING THE BID OF
SOUTHERN TURF NURSERY OF TIFTON,
GEORGIA, FOR FURNISHING MATERIAL AND
LABOR AND EQUIPMENT TO FUMIGATE AND
PLANT GRASS ON APPROXIMATELY 80,000
SQUARE FEET AT THE MELREESE-GOLF COURSE
AT A COST OF $4,000.00, AND AUTHORIZING
THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PUR-
CHASING DIVISION TO ISSUE PURCHASE
ORDERS, AS NECESSARY, FUNDS BEING PRO-
VIDED FOR THIS PURPOSE IN THE DEPART-
MENT OF PARRS' 1973-74 FISCAL YEAR
BUDGET.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Public Notice sealed bids were
received May 29, 1974 for furnishing material, labor and equip-
ment to fumigate and plant grass on approximately 80,000 square
feet at the Melreese Golf Course; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to eighteen (18)
potential suppliers and three (3) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of
Southern Turf Nursery, Tifton, Georgia be accepted at a total
cost of $4,000.00 since it is the lowest and best responsive
bid and further recommends that the award be made to said corpora-
tion;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received May 29, 1974 from Southern
Turf Nursery of Tifton, Georgia for furnishing material, labor
and equipment to fumigate and plant grass on approximately 80,000
square feet at the Melreese Golf Course, is hereby accepted at a
cost of $4,000.00.

Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized
to instruct the Purchasing Division toisst:e Purchase Orders,
as necessary, funds being provided for this purpose in the
Department of Parks' 1973r-74 Fiscal Year Budget.
