A RESOLUTION AGREEING IN PRLNCIPLE FOR THE
DOWNTOWN DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY TO INCREASE
THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT WITH C. A. DAVIS FOR
THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE FIRST PHASE OF THE
MIAMI RIVER WALKWAY IN THE AMOUNT OF $25, 000;
AND AUTHORIZING FUNDS FOR THIS INCREASE BE
MADE AVAILABLE FROM THE $1, 800, 000 AUTHORIZED
FOR THE DOWNTOWN MIAMI RIVERFRONT DEVELOP-
MENT IN THE PARKS FOR PEOPLE BOND PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, a bid has been awarded for the construction of
Phase 1 of the Miami. River Walkway and due to the unavailability of
Mariner Alloy Steel originally specified for this project, it has been
necessary to substitute a Carbon Steel for the bulkhead; and
WHEREAS, to properly protect this Carbon Steel it is necessary
that the tie -back system be placed below the low water level to protect and
increase the life of the improvement; and
WHEREAS, the contractor has submitted a price for these changes
in the amount of $25, 000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the increase in the scope of the contract with
C. A. Davis for the construction of the first phase of the Miami River
Walkway in the amount of $25, 000 by the Downtown Development Authority
is hereby agreed to in principle.
Section 2. That funds for this increase are hereby authorized
to be made available from the $1, 800, 000 authorized for the Downtown
Miami Riverfront Development in the Parks for People Bond Program.
