ORDINANCE NO. 8261
AN ORD/NitNCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 8190
(THE APPROPRIATION ORDINANCE FOR THE 1973-
74 BUDGE'!') AND ACCOMPLISHING A TRANSFER OF
FUNDS IN THE AMOUNT OF $3,200. FROM THE
FUND BALANCE OF THE DEPARTMENT OF YACHT
DOCKS TO THE YACHT DOCKS DEPARTMENT OPERATING
BUDGET FOR FISCAL YEAR 1973-74.
WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 8209 of November 21, 1973
limits the number of garbage and trash collections to two or
three per week, depending on circumstances, the Department of
Sanitation has therefore requested that Department of Yacht Docks
convert Dinner Key Marina from its present use of trash cans and
five day per week pick-up to use of two cubic yard containers so
that Ordinance No. 8209 can be complied with and pick-ups at the
marina can be reduced; and
WHEREAS, as a municipal facility, Dinner Key Marina
should be a leader in compliance with Ordinance No. 8209, but
funds for the required conversion were not programmed in the
fiscal 1973-74 operating budget because this requirement was not
anticipated; and
WHEREAS, by estimate of both the Sanitation Department
and the Yacht Docks Department, sixteen (16) two cubic yard
containers will be required and the Purchasing Agent advises that
the current unit price per container is now $197.00, a transfer
of $3,200. should therefore be sufficient;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager instruct the
Finance Department, since sufficient funds are available in the
Department of Yacht Docks Fund Balance, to amend the Appropriation

Ordinance for the 1973-74 budget (Ordinance No. 8190) to
allocate an additional $3,200. from Yacht Docks Department
Fund Balance to the Yacht Docks Department Operating Budget
for fiscal year 1973-74, for the purchase of 16 two cubic
yard trash containers.
Section 2. That the City Manager instruct the
Purchasing Division to issue purchase orders, as necessary,
after having determined that funds are available for this
purpose.
