A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BID RECEIVED FROM
DIETCRAFT, INC. FOR FURNISHING LUNCHES AT
TWENTY-THREE (23) PLAYGROUNDS THROUGHOUT THE
CITY OF MIAMI BY USE OP THE DEPARTMENT OF
PARKS AND RECREATION AT AN ESTIMATED TOTAL
EXPENDITURE OP $99,480.00, WHICH SUM IS NOT
TO BE EXCEEDED WITHOUT FURTHER AUTHORIZATION
BY THE CITY COMMISSION (FUNDING FOR THIS
PROGRAM SUPPLIED BY THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF
EDUCATION, FOOD AND NUTRITION SERVICE,
TALLAHASSEE, FLORIDA); AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING DIVISION
TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS FOR SAME.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received May 22, 1974 for furnishing lunches at twenty-three (23)
playgrounds throughout the City of Miami by use of the Department
of Parks and Recreation; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to eighteen (18) potential
suppliers and two (2) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bid of
Dietcraft, Inc. for furnishing lunches at twenty-three (23) play-
grounds throughout the City of Miami being the lowest and best
responsive bid, should be accepted at an estimated total expenditure
of $99,480.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The bid received on May 22, 1974 from
Dietcraft, Inc. is accepted for furnishing lunches at twenty-three
(23) playgrounds throughout the City of Miami by use of the Depart-
ment of Parks and Recreation at an estimated total expenditure of
$99,480.00 which sum is not to be exceeded without further authori-
zation by the City Commission (funding for this program supplied
by the Florida Department of Education, Food and Nutrition Service,
Tallahassee, Florida).
