A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE COMPLETED CONSTRUCTION
OF GUNITE CONSTRUCTION AND RENTALS, INC. FOR THE
MARINE STADttiM .. STRUCTURAI, REPAIRS - 1974 AT A
TOTAL COST OF $28,504.66; AUTHORIZING AN INCREASE
OF THE SCOPE OF THE CONTRACT IN THE NET AMOUNT
OF $17,959.66; ALLOCATING THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF
$17,959.66 FROM THE ACCOUNT ENTITLED "CAPITAL
IMPROVEMENT FUND - UNALLOCATED FUNDS; ALLOCATING
THE ADDITIONAL AMOUNT OF $1,795 FROM THE AFORESAID
ACCOUNT TO COVER THE ADDITIONAL COST OF PROJECT
EXPENSE, WHICH INCLUDES ENGINEERING, SURVEY AND
INSPECTION WORK PERFORMED BY CITY FORCES; AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE
PROPER OFFICIALS OF THE CITY OF MIAMI TO MAKE A
FINAL PAYMENT OF $19,105.06 TO GUNITE CONSTRUCTION
AND RENTALS, INC. AS A FULL AND FINAL PAYMENT FOR
ALL WORK PERFORMED AND ALL MATERIALS FURNISHED IN
CONNECTION WITH THE AFORESAID CONTRACT.
WHEREAS, there exists a contract dated January 14, 1974
between the City of Miami and Gunite Construction and Rentals, Inc.;
and
WHEREAS, the work has been satisfactorily completed and
Gunite Construction and Rentals, Inc. has furnished the required
documents certifying that all bills for labor, materials, etc.,
have been paid in full in connection with the aforesaid contract; and
WHEREAS, immediately after start of repair work it became
apparent that deterioration was much more extensive than anticipated
and that the quantities of cement required would be more than
three times of that estimated. The City Commission, by Resolution
No. 74-202, on March 14, 1974 approved extension of contract for
materials; and
WHEREAS, funds for the increase in the scope of the
contract and for additional cost of Project Expense, which includes
Engineering, Survey and Inspection Work performed by City Forces are
available from the account entitled "Capital Improvement Fund -
Unallocated Funds;" and

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works recomMenda the
increase of $17,959.66 in the scope of the contract; allocating
the additional amount of $17,959.66; allocating the additional
amount of $1,795 to cover the additional cost of Project Expense,
which includes Engineering, Survey and Inspection Work performed
by City Forces;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the scope of work and the amount of
the contract be increased in the amount of $17,959.66.
Section 2. That the completed work performed by
Gunite Construction and Rentals, Inc. for the MARINE STADIUM -
STRUCTURAL REPAIRS - 1974 at a total cost of $28,504.66 be
accepted.
Section 3. That the additional amount of $17,959.66
be allocated from the account entitled "Capital Improvement
Fund - Unallocated Funds."
Section 4. That the additional amount of $1,795
be allocated from the aforesaid account to cover the additional
cost of Project Expense, which includes Engineering, Survey, and
Inspection Work performed by City Forces.
Section 5. That the proper officials of the City of
Miami be authorized to pay to Gunite Construction and Rentals,
Inc. a balance of $19,105.06 as full and final payment for all
work performed and all materials furnished in connection with the
aforesaid Contract. + �
