A RESOLUTION OF THE CCi'1MISSION OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI APPROVING THE OBJECTIVES
OF THE "OMNI THEATRE FESTIVAL" OF
GREATER MIAMI AND APPROVING IN PRINCIPAL
THE CONCEPT OF PLACING MONEY IN THE
CITY OF MIAMI'S 1974-1975 BUDGET TO
ASSIST IN ACHIEVING THE DESIRED GOALS.
WHEREAS, the organizers of the Omni Theatre Festival
wish to create here in Greater Miami a unique and exciting
concept never before coordinated anywhere in the world; and
WHEREAS, said organizers wish to present a dramatic
schedule of major playwrights' work produced by our existing,
talented, professional and academic experts, and acted by pro-
fessionals spearheading spirited resident casts; and
WHEREAS, the organizers wish to promulgate to the
public in a steady stream of media programming and feature
material, both local and national....this flood of activities
to be so vigorous, so demanding of recognition, so culturally
rewarding, so filled with special events, great names and great
plays that our community will at last awaken and begin to support
our theatre institutions by pride as well as deed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The City Commission hereby approves the
objectives of the "Omni Theatre Festival" of Greater Miami and
approves: in principal the concept of placing money in the
City of Miami's 1974-1975 Budget to assist in achieving
