RESOLUTION NO. 74.,30g.__,
A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE SUPPORT OE THE
COMMISSION OP THE CITY OF MIAMI AND THE
CITIZENS OE MIAMI POR HOUSE BILL NO, 1716;
URGING PASSAGE OP THE BILL AND DIRECTING
THAT COPIES OF THIS RESOLUTION BE FORWARDED
TO REPRESENTATIVE MARSHALL HHARRIS AND MEMBERS
OF THE DADE COUNTY DELEGATION OF SENATORS.
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Commission hereby, on
behalf of the Commission and the Citizens of the City of
Miami, announce its support of House Bill No. 1716, which
Bill allows a City to exercise the power of condemnation
through Eminent Domain, such power to supersede the power
of railroad and canal companies, subject Bill having been
passed in the House of Representatives and now being con-
sidered by the Senate. We strongly urge passage of the Bill
because of its application to the pending problems surrounding
the purchase of railroad property within the City of Miami.
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to
forward copies of this Resolution to Representative Marshall
Harris and all members of the Dade County Delegation of Senators.
