A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE BIDS RECEIVED
MARCH 20, 1974 FOR FURNISHING INTECTION,
REMOVAL, AND REPLACEMENT OF TREES AFFECTED
BY THE DISEASE KNOWN AS "LETHAL YELLOWING"
FROM BOYDS PALM BLIGHT CONTROL, TRIPLE A
TREE SERVICE, RUSSELL, INC., MELROSE NURSERY,
AND NATIONAL TREE SERVICE AT A COST OF
APPROXIMATELY $50,000 FROM DATE OF AWARD
TO SEPTEMBER 30, 1974, AND AUTHORIZING THE
CITY MANAGER TO INSTRUCT THE PURCHASING
DIVISION TO ISSUE PURCHASE ORDERS, AS
NECESSARY, AFTER FIRST HAVING DETERMINED
THAT FUNDS BUDGETED FOR THIS PURPOSE ARE
AVAILABLE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to public notice, sealed bids were
received March 20, 1974 for furnishing Injection, Removal, Re-
placement and Removal plus Replacement of Trees affected by the
disease known as "Lethal Yellowing"; and
WHEREAS, invitations were mailed to twenty (20)
potential suppliers and eight (8) bids were received; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends that the bids of
Boyd's Palm Blight Control, Triple A Tree Service, Russell, Inc.,
Melrose Nursery and National Tree Service be accepted at an
approximate cost of $50,000;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the March 20, 1974 bids from
goyd's Palm Blight Control C$$4.60 per injection
Triple A Tree Service @ $16.50 per tree removal
Russell, Inc. (4'-10'tree) @ $25.00 per tree replacement
" (labor) ` $34.90 per tree
Melrose Nursery (8'-10'tree) $70.00 per tree
(15' tree) 150.00 per tree
National Tree Service CC 70.00 per tree
be, and the same is hereby accepted at an approximate cost of
$50,000.
Section 2. That the City Manager instruct the Purchasing
Division to issue Purchase Orders, as necessary, after first having
determined that funds budgeted for this purpose are av
