HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-74-0268• M :eb 4,4Oa 14 RESOLUTION NO Nio.a. 2 fr► A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE AiERICAN LEGION 1974 CONVENTION CORPORATION OF FLORIDA FOR THE UTILIZATION OF THE ORANGE BOWL ON AUGUST 17, 1974 FOR THE CORPORATION TO CONDUCT THEIR DRUM AND BUGLE CORPS COMPETITION; THE CITY OF MIAMI IS TO RECEIVE $100 OR 15% OF TOTAL GROSS GATE RECEIPTS, WHICHEVER IS GREATER, AND THAT THE CORPORATION PAY ALL EXPENSES INCURRED BY THE CITY FOR STADIUM CLEAN-UP, EVENT PERSONNEL AND SECURITY, WHEREAS, the City of Miami has received a request from Mr. Lawrence Hoffman, President, American Legion 1974 Convention Corporation of Florida, for the Corporation to utilize the Orange Bowl on August 17, 1974 to conduct their Drum and Bugle Corps Competition; and WHEREAS, the American Legion 1974 Convention Corporation is planning to charge an admission fee of $2.50 for reserved seats and $1.50 for general admission to the competition; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the City Manager be authorized to enter into a contract with the American Legion 1974 Convention Corporation of Florida for the utilization of the Orange Bowl on August 17, 1974 to conduct their Drum and Bugle Corps Competition. Section 2. That a charge of $100 or of $15% of the total gross gate receipts, whichever is greater, be assessed to the American Legion 1974 Convention Corporation and that they pay all expenses incurred by the city for stadium clean-up, event personnel and security.
