A RESOLUTION BY THE CITY COMMISSION
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER OR HIS
DESIGNATED REPRESENTATIVE TO NEGOTIATE
WITH THE CHAMPION SPARK PLUG COMPANY
IN REGARD TO THE UNLIMITED REGATTA AT
MIAMI MARINE STADIUM, MAY 30 - 31 &
JUNE 1 - 2, 1974.
WHEREAS, the dates of May 30 - 31, June 1 - 2,
1974 have been reserved on the Marine Stadium calendar of events
for the proposed fourth annual Champion Spark Plug Unlimited
Regatta; and
WHEREAS, as in the past three annual Unlimited
Regattas, a monetary guarantee has been negotiated with Champion
Spark Plug Company concerning this regatta;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager, or one of his
designated representatives be, and he is, hereby authorized to
negotiate with Champion Spark Plug Company for the monetary
guarantee to be put up by this company for the Unlimited Regatta,
May 30 - 31, June 1 - 2, 1974, at the Miami. Marine Stadium.
Section 2. Further, it is provided that as in the
past three annual Unlimited Regattas, Champion Spark Plug Company
is to be reimbursed a certain amount of this guarantee money as
stated in a contract with the City through gate receipts. Any
remainder may be the contribution of Champion Spark Plug Company.
