A RESOLUTION AUTHOR/ZING THE DIRECTOR
Off` FINANCE TO PAY TO ROBERT OSTEEN,
WITHOUT THE ADMISSION OF LIABILITY,
THE SUM OF $2500.00 IN FULL AND COMPLETE
SETTLEMENT OF HIS CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY
OF MIAMI FOR ALLEGED PERSONAL INJURIES
SUSTAINED BY HIM, UPON THE EXECUTION OF
A RELEASE RELEASING THE CITY OF MAN/
FROM ALL CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, the Plaintiff, ROBERT OSTEEN, filed an action
against the City of Miami in the Circuit Court of Dade
County, Florida, bearing Number 73-14943, alleging that
he was falsely arrested and imprisoned and brutally beaten
by Miami police officers on or about November 7, 1972; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the Office
of the City Attorney and said office recommends that this
claim be settled for the negotiated settlement figure of
$2500.00;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1.
The Director of Finance of the City of
Miami is hereby authorized and directed to pay to ROBERT
OSTEEN, without the admission of liability, the
$2500.00 in full and complete settlement of his
