A RESOLUTION APPROVING IN PRINCIPLE THE
PLAN FOR SUPPLEMENTAL UMW THE MARINE
STAbItMM COMPLEX IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
PROPOSALS OF THE STUDY" TEAM COMPOSED OF
CITY MANAGER STAFF MEMBERS AND REPRESEN-.
TATIVES FROM THE DEPARTMENTS OF PUBLICITY
AND YACHT DOCKS; AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO IMPLEMENT THOSE ACTIVITIES FOUND
TO BE FEASIBLE.
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is endeavoring to expand
the use of auditoriums, stadiums and recreational facilities;
and
WHEREAS, a study team composed of staff members of
the City Manager's office and representatives from the Depart-
ments of Publicity and Yacht Docks have researched supplemental
uses for the Miami Marine Stadium at Virginia Key;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That it does hereby approve in principle
the expanded uses of the Marine Stadium suggested by the study
team of City Manager staff members and representatives from the
departments of Publicity and Yacht Docks.
Section 2. That it does hereby authorize the City
Manager to proceed with the implementation of those activities
found to be feasible.
