RESOLUTION NO. 74 FEB 9 AM 9
A RESOLUTION APPROVING A NINE MONTH EXTENSION
OF EMPLOYMENT PAST THE AGE OF SEVENTY (70)
FOR RAFAEL GARCIA, INTERPRETER CLERIC, CITY OF
MIAMI POLICE DEPARTMENT, EFFECTIVE JANUARY 29,
1974 to OCTOBER 29, 1974, NOTING THAT A
PREVIOUS NINETY -DAY EXTENSION HAD BEEN GRANTED,
EFFECTIVE OCTOBER 29, 1973, WITH THE PROVISION
THAT IN THE EVENT OF A ROLLBACK OR LAYOFF,
MR. GARCIA, RATHER THAN A JUNIOR EMPLOYEE,
WOULD BE AFFECTED.
WHEREAS, the Executive Secretary, Civil Service Board
has recommended an extension of employment past the age of
seventy (70) for Rafael Garcia, Interpreter Clerk, City of
Miami Police Department, effective January 29, 1974 to October
29, 1974; and
WHEREAS, the City Physician has determined that the
physical condition of said Rafael Garcia is satisfactory for
continued employment; and
WHEREAS, the Civil Service Board has unanimously re-
commended the approval of employment past the age of seventy (70)
for said Rafael Garcia for an additional nine (9) months,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. A nine (9) month extension of employment
past the age of seventy (70) for Rafael Garcia, Interpreter
Clerk, City of Miami Police Department, effective January 29,
1974 to October 29, 1974, is hereby approved, with the provision
that in the event of a rollback or layoff, Mr. Garcia, rather
than a junior employee, would be affected.
