Frank Castaneda, Director City of Miami Community Development Department 300 Biscayne Boulevard Way, Suite 420 Miami, Florida 33131 RE: Request for Extension of Time to Agreement for Overtowu Community Plan and Action Program Study Dear Mr. Castaneda: Complete OAB/City Redevelopment As you know, the effective completion date for the referenced grant agreement between the Overtown Advisory Board, Inc., and the City of Miami is October 6, 1992. On behalf of OAB, I am hereby requesting a 60-day grant extension to December 6, 1992 to allow time for completion of all required deliverables and filing of the final payment invoice. We do not require any other changes in the agreement and there will not be extra cost to the City of Miami. The reasons for this additional extension include the fact that the USF/Florida Center for Urban Design & Research, . OAB's subcontractor, has encountered extensive local data gathering delays during Phases A and B of the work program. "While the consulting team has made up for some earlier delays, Hurricane Andrew's destruction of homes has affected work scheduled for the Miami based consultant team and OAB staff members." Please note that the Sub -Contract Agreement between OAB and IISF/Florida Center allows flexibility for scheduling and completion without need of any contract amendment. P.O. RECITALS A. CITY and OAB entered into an Agreement dated August 6, 1991, concerning the Overtown Community Redevelopment Plan and Action Program Study. B. CITY and OAB desire to modify the Agreement to provide an additional grant period extension to April 6, 1993. TERMS 1. Recita.ls - The foregoing recitals are true and made a part of this Modification Agreement. 2. Modification of Agreement - The Agreement's modified as follows: ARTICLE II - Section 2.1 Term of Agreement: The term of this Agreement shall be for twenty (20) months from the date of execution, subject to cancellation hereinafter provided. 1 4 f^ The parties have caused this instrument to be duly executed by their respective duly authorized officials as of the date set forth in the first paragraph.
