HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-74-01002/6/74 RESOLUTION NO.21,0, 0i A RESOLUTION EXPRESSING THE DESIRE OP THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI THAT THE GOVERNOR OF PUERTO RICO ESTABLISH AN OFFICE IN MIAMI FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE OP COORDINATING THE AFFAIRS OF PERSONS OF PUERTO RICAN ORIGIN WITHIN THE LOCAL AREA, WITH PARTICULAR ATTENTION TO THE AFFAIRS OF MIGRANT WORKERS. WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami, Florida, accepts in principle the concept that Puerto Rican Nationals temporarily domiciled in and working within the City of Miami can benefit by a coordinated effort to protect their interests; and WHEREAS, it is apparent that the appropriate agency to initiate this activity is a governmental agency of Puerto Rico; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. That the Governor of Puerto Rico establish an office in Miami for the specific purpose of coordinating the affairs of persons of Puerto Rican origin within the local area, with particular attention to the affairs of migrant workers.
