A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR
OF FINANCE TO PAY TO RAYMOND PRATER,
WXTHOUT THE ADMISSION OF LIABILITY,
THE SUM OF $2,154.82 IN FULL AND COMPLETE
SETTLEMENT OF HIS CLAIM AGAINST THE CITY
FOR ALLEGED PERSONAL INJURIES SUSTAINED
BY HIM, UPON THE EXECUTION OF A RELEASE
RELEASING THE CITY OF MIAMI FROM ALL
CLAIMS AND DEMANDS.
WHEREAS, the Plaintiff, RAYMOND PRATER, filed an
action against the City of Miami in the Circuit Court of
Dade County, bearing Number 73-11535, claiming he had been
wrongfully arrested, charged with being a public drunk and
publicly pushed, flung and shook down by Police Officers
Spain and Sigman; and
WHEREAS, this claim has been investigated by the Office
of the City Attorney and said office recommends that this
claim be settled for the sum of $2,154.82;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the Director of Finance is hereby
authorized and directed to pay to Raymond Prater, without
the admission of liability, the sum of $2,154.82 in full
and complete settlement of his claim against the City of
Miami and its police officers for alleged personal injuries
sustained by him, upon the execution of a release releasing
the City of Miami from all claims and demands.
