ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 2-8 OF THE
CODE OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, 1957,
AS AMENDED, BY REPEALING SUBSECTION 2-8
THEREOF, AND SUBSTITUTING A NEW SUBSECTION
2-8 PROVIDING FOR THE DESIGNATION OF A
PRIMARY MEETING PLACE FOR THE CITY COM-
MISSION; PROVIDING FOR A NEW TIME AT WHICH
MEETING SHALL COMMENCE; FURTHER PROVIDING
THAT ALTERNATE MEETING PLACES MAY BE
DESIGNATED FROM TIME TO TIME BY RESOLUTION.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 2-8 of the Code of the City of Miami,
Florida, 1957, as amended, is repealed and a new Subsection 2-8,
as contained in Sections 2 and 3 of this Ordinance, is substi-
tuted.
Section 2. The City Hall, located at Dinner Key, Miami,
Florida, is hereby designated as the meeting place for the City
Commission; and its regular meetings, as hereinafter designated,
shall be held on the first floor of the City Hall. The City
Commission is hereby authorized to designate alternate meeting
places and times from time to time as may appear appropriate.
Such alternate meeting places shall be designated by Resolution.
Such Resolution shall specify the date, time and place for not
more than one (1) regular City Commission Meeting. The date so
specified shall be not sooner than thirty (30) days subsequent
to the effective date of the Resolution.
Section 3. Regular meetings of the City Commission
shall be held on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month.

All regular meetings of the City Commission shall convene prompt-
ly at 8:30 A.M. However, the City Commission may, by Resolution,
designate a substitute day or time upon which regular City Com-
mission Meetings shall be held whenever, in the opinion of a
majority of the members of the City Commission, there is good
cause for such substitution.
Section 4. All ordinances, code sections or parts
thereof in conflict herewith, insofar as they are in conflict,
are hereby repealed.
Section 5. If any section, sentence, clause, phrase
or word of this Ordinance is for any reason held or declared to
be unconstitutional, inoperative or void, such holding or in-
validity shall not affect the remaining portions of this Ordinance,
and it shall be construed to have been the intent of the Commmission
of the City of Miami to pass this Ordinance without such unconsti-
tional, invalid, or inoperative part therein, and the remainder of
this Ordinance, after the exclusion of such part or parts shall be
deemed and held to be valid as if such parts had not been included
therein.
