ESOLUTION NO.
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE
OF $6,000 TO IMP DEFRAY TN2 TRAVEL
EXPENSE OF MEMBERS OF THE CITY COMMISSION
AND CITY ADMINISTRATION TO VISIT CARACAS,
VENEZUELA AND BOGOTA, COLOMUA.
WHEREAS representatives of Caracas, Venezuela and
Bogota, Colombia have extended an invitation to industrial and
governmental leaders in Florida to visit the aforesaid cities;
and
WHEREAS, members of private industry and governmental
units from the entire State of Florida, including the Office of
the Governor recognize the importance of developing friendly
and harmonious relationships with the nations of South America;
and
WHEREAS, the strengthening of the existing relations
with the aforesaid cities will expand and broaden the commercial
and business ties that already exist;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The expenditure of $6,000 is hereby author-
ized to help defray the travel expenses of Miami City Commissioners
and representatives of the City of Miami
administration to the
cities of Caracas, Venezuela and Bogota, Colombia to encourage
and develop greater business ties between the City of Miami and
the aforesaid cities.
