rhe investi ration of this case and the pre-trial discover- were con-
ducted b the office of ;be Cit. Attorne . : ucb invests ation re-
vealed that such cur'; existed in a condition of disrepair for a period
of over one month. the concrete from sch corner had crumbled towards
the street leavin an exposed metal support -wire as an impediment,
located at a desi rated pedestrian crosswalk.

tusions, ai.d abrasions and went into shock, rcquirin hospitaliza-
tion. The orthopedic ph -sician who treated claimant will rate claimant
as havin a permanent disa',ilit - of 10 ' as a result of the accident.
After liti ation had proceeded for a considerable period of time
and after ne otiations, claimant's counsel a reed to accept the sum
of ?2,000 in settlement.
