L'pon receiving the petition a letter eras sent to Ala. Joella C. mood, principal of the Coconut Grove elementary School, informing her of this request. ~1~e also explained the City ts•as improving the park to expand the recreational facilities and these improverrlents would undoubtedly increase the number of people daily utili>inst the park. F•ecause of this increaatd use, _ and as a convenience to the public, the school v4•as requested to discontinue barricading the street. 141 s. Carol H. Clark, Site Planner for the bade County School £soard, in her May 27, 1975 letter, informed the Cit}• 1i s. Good had re~•iewed the present use of Kirk Munroe bark as a play area for the primary tirades and had secured permission of the Area Superintendent to designate a part of the school grounds for this actin ity. She requested that the barricading continue until June 13, 19'5 and indicated the nPw arrangement ~s•ould commence with the fall 1975 term, at which time the barricading would cease. in requesting that the street barricading be discontinued, the school was not asked to stop using the park as a pla}• area, but the City thouiZht outer arrange- ments would be made by the school to permit a safe crassinS for the children.
