REPEALING ALL. ORDINANCES, CODE SECTIONS
OR PARTS THEREOF IN CONFLICT; AND PROVIDE
ING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, sources of funding ate available for
Recreation programs for the handicapped; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Division of Retardation,
under its Purchase of Service Program will reimburse the City of Miami
for any programs for the handicapped which meet theirguidelines and
are submitted as new programs for the community are needed;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Appropriations Ordinance No. 8464 be, and is
hereby amended by appropriating $85, 455. 12 for additional revenues
and expenditures for Programs for the Handicapped as follows:
Recreation Activity Center
Consumer Education
Recreation for the Physically Handicapped
Bowling Program
Industrial Woodworking
Project Enrichment
Total

Section 2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized
and directed to instruct the proper City Officials to implement this Program,
establishing a Program Budget to receive reimbursement from the State
of Florida, Division of Retardation, as new programs for the community
are needed.
Section 3. All otdiiiances. code sections or patts thereof
in dontlict herewith. insofaras they ate in conflict. are hereby released.
Section 4. The provisions of this ordinance shall beco
effective on

The State of Florida, Division of Retardation has
.allocated $85, 455.12 to the City. of Miami for: its
Recreation Programs for the Handicapped. These
funds will be used for expenditures relating to
these programs.
The funds are needed immediately to cover staff
salaries otherwise these programs will have to
curtail much of their operation. We therefore
recommend the adoption of this ordinance amending
Appropriations Ordinance No. 8464.
