A RESOLUTION REQUESTING METROPOLITAN DAD COUNTY
TO ESTABLISH A RAPID TRANSIT STATION AT THE
PROPOSED CITY OF MIAMI CONVENTION CENTER AND
INSTRUCTING THE CITY CLERK TO FURNISH COPIES
OP THIS RESOLUTION TO METRGPr'LITAN DADE COUNTY.
WiitittAS, 1 ,, Resolution No. 75-442, passed on May P.
1975, the City Commission established the official City of Miami
policy regarding the Metropolitan bade County Transit Program;
and
WHEREAS, the only downtown station suggested in said
resolution was the DuPont Plaza area; and
WHEREAS, the City of Miami is in the process of
creating a downtown Convention Center ir the area of Southeast
1 Avenue and 3r.d Street;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. Metropolitar Dade County is here&-y
re tuested to estal_i i sh a rapid transit station for the Dade
County Transit Improvement Program at the approximate location
of Southeast 1 Avenue and3rd Street, the site of the proposed
City of Miami Convention Center in downtown Miami.
Section 7. The City Clerk be, and is hereby,
authorized to furnish copies of this resolution to Metropolitan
Dade County of Miami, Florida.

1975.
