A f OUP -FIFTHS VOTE OF .THE i'Ei1BERS OF THE 'CITY COMMISSION DISPENSING WITH.THE REQUIREMENT OF READING THIS ORDINANCE Oft_TWO SEPARATE DAYS: . WHEREAS, the City of Miami estimates that the non-exempt, aggregate valuation of taxable property, both real and personal, in the City of Miami, Florida, for the year beginning October 1, 1975, and ending September 30, 1976, is S3,596,933,488; and WHEREAS, at an election held September 2, 1925, the City of Miami did annex certain territory unincorporated at the time of such election, and did annex certain other territory incorporated at the time of such elec- tion, and from time to time other territory has been included in the City limits of the City of Miami by legislative acts: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF t 1IAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. For the purpose of this ordinance "The City, of Miami' is defined to be, includes, and designates the City of Miami as it now exists with the extended territorial limits. Section 2. There shall be, and hereby is, levied upon the non- exempt assessed value of all property, both real and personal, in the City of Miami as described in Section 1 hereof, taxes at the rates shown below for the fiscal year beginning October 1, 1975, and ending September 30, 1976, for the following purposes: of this A tax of 5.553 mills on the dollar for the General FUnd to support and carry on the government of the City of Miami, (2) A tax of :374 mills oh the dollar to pay for `street lighting of the City (3) A tax of .171 mills on the dollar to provide a publicity fund. (4) A tax of 2.521 mills on the dollar to provide for the requirements of the pension fund of the City, (5) A tax of 2.311 mills on the dollar to provide for *the payment ofmaturing principal and interest, and charges and requirements related thereto, of indebtedness incurred subsequent to the adoption of the Homestead Exemption Amendment to the Constitution of the State of Florida, and subject to the terms thereof. These miilages total 10.930 mills. Section 3. If any. section, part of section, paragraph or clause. ordinance shall be held to be unconstitutional or void, the remaining provisions of this ordinance shall, nevertheless, remain in full force and effect. Section.4. The foregoing ordinance is hereby. declared to be an emergency measure on -the ground of urgent public need for the preservation of peace, health, safety, and property of the City; and to meet appropriations made. Section 5. The requirement of reading this ordinance on two separate days is hereby dispensed with by a four -fifths, vote of the members of the Commission.
