A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S),
AUTHORIZING THE REALLOCATION OF COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
BLOCK GRANT ("CDBG") ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FUNDS FROM
DISTRICT 2 IN THE TOTAL AMOUNT OF FOUR HUNDRED FIFTY-NINE
THOUSAND, THREE HUNDRED FIFTY-EIGHT AND 54/100 DOLLARS
($459,358.54) TO THE DEPARTMENT OF RESILIENCE AND PUBLIC WORKS
TO BE UTILIZED FOR CITYWIDE STORMWATER DRAINAGE SYSTEM
UPGRADES, SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS, AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES
ACT ("ADA") UPGRADES, AND/OR ANY OTHER CDBG ELIGIBLE
IMPROVEMENTS, AS DESCRIBED IN EXHIBIT "A," ATTACHED AND
INCORPORATED; FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO
NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE ANY AND ALL NECESSARY DOCUMENTS,
INCLUDING AMENDMENTS, EXTENSIONS, AND MODIFICATIONS, ALL IN A
FORM ACCEPTABLE TO THE CITY ATTORNEY, SUBJECT TO ALL
FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL LAWS THAT REGULATE THE USE OF SUCH
FUNDS, FOR SAID PURPOSE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. R-24-0451, adopted on November 21, 2024, the
Miami City Commission approved the allocation of Community Development Block Grant
("CDBG") funds in the economic development category from Fiscal Year ("FY") 2024-2025 in
the total amount of Two Million, Seven Hundred Eight Thousand, Eight Hundred Nine and
00/100 Dollars ($2,708,809.00), which included an amount of Three Hundred Ninety -Two
Thousand, Seven Hundred Seventy -Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($392,777.00) to the Department
of Resilience and Public Works ("Public Works") earmarked from District 2 to be utilized for
eligible street improvements; and
WHEREAS, there is a remaining balance of Five Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty -One and
54/100 Dollars ($5,251.54) that needs to be reallocated; and
WHEREAS, on April 10, 2025, pursuant to Resolution No. R-25-0122, the Miami City
Commission approved the transfer of CDBG economic development funds in the amount of
Four Hundred Fifty -Four Thousand, One Hundred Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($454,107.00)
from the Department of Real Estate and Asset Management ("DREAM") to Public Works for
eligible street improvements in District 2; and
WHEREAS, it is the desire of the District 2 Commissioner to utilize the unspent CDBG
economic development funds for citywide projects as described in Exhibit "A," attached and
incorporated;
WHEREAS, the City Administration's recommends the reallocation of CDBG economic
development funds remaining balance from FY 2024-2025 in the amount of Five Thousand,
Two Hundred Fifty -One and 54/100 Dollars ($5,251.54), and the unspent CDBG economic

development funds earmarked from District 2 in the amount of Four Hundred Fifty -Four
Thousand, One Hundred Seven and 00/100 Dollars ($454,107.00) for a total amount of Four
Hundred Fifty -Nine Thousand, Three Hundred Fifty -Eight and 54/100 Dollars ($459,358.54) to
Public Works, to be utilized for citywide stormwater drainage system upgrades, sidewalk
improvements, Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") upgrades, and/or any other CDBG
eligible improvements;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The reallocation of CDBG economic development funds remaining balance
from FY 2024-2025 in the amount of Five Thousand, Two Hundred Fifty -One and 54/100
Dollars ($5,251.54), and the unspent CDBG economic development funds earmarked from
District 2 in the amount of Four Hundred Fifty -Four Thousand, One Hundred Seven and 00/100
Dollars ($454,107.00) for a total amount of Four Hundred Fifty -Nine Thousand, Three Hundred
Fifty -Eight and 54/100 Dollars ($459,358.54), to be utilized for citywide stormwater drainage
system upgrades, sidewalk improvements, Americans With Disabilities Act ("ADA") upgrades,
and/or any other CDBG eligible improvements, is authorized.1
Section 3. The City Manager is authorized) to negotiate and execute any and all
documents, including extensions, amendments, and modifications, all in a form acceptable to
the City Attorney, subject to all federal, state, and local laws that regulate the use of such funds,
for said purpose.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
