A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION ISSUING A FIREWORKS
DISPLAY WAIVER PURSUANT TO CHAPTER 19/SECTION 7 OF THE CODE OF THE
CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA, AS AMENDED, TITLED "FIRE
PROTECTION/MANUFACTURE, SALE, TIME OF DISPLAY AND DISCHARGE OF
FIREWORKS," TO ALLOW FOR A FIREWORKS DISPLAY IN CONNECTION WITH
THE INTER MIAMI CF SOCCER GAMES FOR THE 2026 SEASON TO BE HELD AT
NU STADIUM AT MIAMI FREEDOM PARK, LOCATED AT THE PROPERTY
IDENTIFIED BY FOLIO NO. 01-3132-000-0095 IN MIAMI, FLORIDA, ON APRIL 25,
MAY 2, MAY 17, MAY 24, JULY 22, AUGUST 1, AUGUST 8, AUGUST 12, AUGUST
22, AUGUST 29, SEPTEMBER 5, SEPTEMBER 12, SEPTEMBER 20, OCTOBER 10,
OCTOBER 14., OCTOBER 28, AND NOVEMBER 7, 2026.
WHEREAS, Section 19-7(c)(2) of the Code of the City of Miami, Florida, as amended
("City Code"), prohibits permits for fireworks between the hours of 9:30 P.M. and 9:00 A.M.
Sunday through Thursday and the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 9:00 A.M. Friday through Saturday;
and
WHEREAS, Section 19-7(c)(4) of the City Code provides that the City Commission may
relax the restrictions contained in Section 19-7(c)(2) or declare them inapplicable on special
occasions; and
WHEREAS, the Inter Miami CF is scheduled to have soccer games for an approximately
2-hour game time at varying commencements times of either 2:30 pm, 6:00 pm, or 7:30 pm, as
may be adjusted by the Major League Soccer on each of the following dates on April 25, May 2,
May 17, May 24, July 22, August 1, August 8, August 12, August 22, August 29, September 5,
September 12, September 20, October 10, October 14, October 28 and November 7, 2026
("Game Events"), to be held at Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, located at the property
identified by Folio No. 01-3132-000-0095, in Miami, Florida; and
WHEREAS, as part of the Games Events, fireworks are displayed to mark the national
anthem, special occasions, and goal scoring at different intervals throughout the game for a few
minutes at each interval; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with Section 2-33(f) of the City Code, the City Commission,
by a majority vote, hereby deems this Resolution to be of an emergency nature;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. A fireworks display waiver pursuant to Section 19-7 of the City Code, titled
"Manufacture, sale, time of display and discharge of fireworks," is issued, for the Game Events
to be held at Nu Stadium at Miami Freedom Park, located at the property identified by Folio No.
01-3132-000-0095, in Miami, Florida.
Section 3. This Resolution does not waive any other requirements of the City Code,
including but not limited to, noise restrictions, applicable fees, inspections, and permits.
Section 4. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption.
