Background of Item: Pursuant to Resolution No. R-25-0287, adopted July 25, 2025, the Miami City Commission approved the allocation of CDBG funds in the total amount of $5,025,283.00 for Fiscal Year 2025-2026, which included an amount of Two Million Six Hundred Sixty -Seven Thousand Eighty -Three and 95/100 Dollars ($2,667,083.95) for economic development activities. There is a need for Commercial Facade and Code Compliance rehabilitation within District 5, and it is the desire of the District 5 Commissioner to use the Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Program, to meet the needs of business owners in District 5. There is an unallocated amount of Five Hundred Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty -Five and 00/100 Dollars ($570.755.00) that represents a portion of CDBG economic development funds earmarked for District 5 for FY2025-2026, that must be allocated. The District 5 Commissioner desires to allocate an amount of Five Hundred Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty -Five and 00/100 Dollars ($570.755.00). The City's Administration recommends the approval of the District 5 Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Program, as specified in Exhibit "A," and to authorize the transfer of the unallocated CDBG economic development funds from FY2025-2026, in the total amount of Five Hundred Seventy Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty- Five and 00/100 Dollars ($570.755.00), as described in Exhibit "B," attached and incorporated. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The District 5 Commercial Facade and Code Compliance Program, as specified in Exhibit "A," attached and incorporated, is approved.1 Section 3. The transfer of the unallocated CDBG economic development funds, from FY2025-2026, in the total amount of Five Hundred Seventy Thousand, Seven Hundred Fifty - Five Dollars ($570,755.00), as described in Exhibit "B," attached and incorporated; is approved.1 Section 4. The City Manager is authorized2 to negotiate and execute any and all necessary documents, including amendments, extensions, and modifications, all in a form acceptable to the City Attorney, as may be necessary to implement the transfer of said funds. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and signature by the mayor. 3 APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ge Wy y ng III, C y -ttor -y 3/3/2026 2 The herein authorization is further subject to compliance with all legal requirements that may be imposed, including but not limited to, those prescribed by applicable City Charter and City Code provisions. 3 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
