HomeMy WebLinkAboutR-26-0167City of Miami Resolution R-26-0167 Legislation City Hall 3500 Pan American Drive Miami, FL 33133 www.miamigov.com File Number: 18989 Final Action Date: 4/9/2026 A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, WITH ATTACHMENT(S), AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO NEGOTIATE AND EXECUTE AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT, BETWEEN THE CITY OF MIAMI ("CITY") AND MIAMI-DADE COUNTY ("COUNTY"), ATTACHED AND INCORPORATED AS EXHIBIT "A," TO ALLOW THE INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE BY THE CITY OF STREETLIGHTS WITHIN CITY -OWNED RIGHT-OF-WAY LOCATED ON BRICKELL BAY DRIVE AND SOUTHEAST 12TH STREET, TO BE FUNDED BY THE COUNTY. SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Damian Pardo WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") and Miami -Dade County ("County") wish to add new signals and streetlights at the intersection of Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street in accordance with the Intergovernmental Agreement, in substantially the form attached and incorporated herein as Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street are municipal roads maintained by the City; and WHEREAS, the County has a proposed signal project at the intersection of Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street, and the County agrees to fund the streetlights as part of the proposed project; and WHEREAS, streetlights are required as part of the new signal design based on County standards; and WHEREAS, the City and County wish to facilitate the implementation of streetlights within the City's right-of-way at the intersection of Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street, hereinafter referred to as the "Project"; and WHEREAS, the Project scope consists of the installation of a new signal at the intersection of Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street, consisting of two (2) new streetlight poles and fixtures, and upgrading two (2) existing streetlights to Light Emitting Diode ("LED") luminaires fixtures; and WHEREAS, the County agrees to fund the installation by the City to install two (2) new streetlights and to upgrade two (2) existing streetlights; and WHEREAS, the estimated total cost for two (2) new streetlights and to upgrade two (2) existing streetlights is One Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($100,000.00), of which the County will fund One Hundred Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($100,000.00), and the City will be solely responsible for any overages; and WHEREAS, the City agrees to install and maintain two (2) new streetlights through their City of Miami Page 1 of 2 File ID: 18989 (Revision:) Printed On: 4/22/2026 File ID: 18989 Enactment Number: R-26-0167 existing lighting maintenance contract agreement; and WHEREAS, the City agrees to upgrade and maintain two (2) existing streetlights to LED luminaires fixtures through their existing lighting maintenance contract agreement; and WHEREAS, the City shall, at its sole cost and expense, maintain, repair, and replace, as necessary, the proposed streetlights in a like manner to that of the streetlights currently existing along Brickell Bay Drive; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The Recitals and findings contained in the Preamble to this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The City Commission hereby approves the Intergovernmental Agreement, between the City and the County, to allow installation by the County streetlights within City - owned right-of-way to be funded by the County, located on Brickell Bay Drive and Southeast 12th Street. Section 3. The City Manager is authorized' to negotiate and execute the Intergovernmental Agreement, in substantially the form attached and incorporated as Exhibit tt A A Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized to execute any amendments, extensions, renewals, or related documents necessary to implement the intent of this Resolution, in a form acceptable to the City Attorney. Section 5. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption. APPROVED AS TO FORM AND CORRECTNESS: ge = .
