A RESOLUTION OF THE MIAMI CITY COMMISSION, REALLOCATING
FUNDS, IN THE AMOUNT OF FORTY NINE THOUSAND AND 00/100
DOLLARS ($49,000.00), PREVIOUSLY AWARDED FOR THE DISTRICT 5
JAZZ CONCERT/FESTIVAL ("JAZZ FESTIVAL"), TO THE TASTE OF
KARNIVAL: ARTS AN EATS CULTURAL AND CULINARY EVENT, TO BE
HELD ON APRIL 12, 2026 FROM 4:00 PM TO 12:00 AM, ON NORTHEAST
2ND AVENUE FROM 55TH STREET TO 62ND STREET, MIAMI, FLORIDA.

WHEREAS, the District 5 Commissioner wishes to reallocate funds from the Jazz
Festival, in the amount of Forty Nine Thousand and 00/100 Dollars ($49,000.00) ("Funds"), to
the Taste of Karnival: Arts and Eats Cultural and Culinary Event ("Taste of Karnival"), to be held
on Northeast 2nd Avenue from 55th Street to 62nd Street, Miami, Florida, on April 12, 2026 from
4:00 PM to 12:00 AM; and
WHEREAS, the Taste of Karnival is a vibrant cultural and culinary event that celebrates
Caribbean heritage through food, music, art, and community engagement, highlighting the rich
multicultural fabric that has long defined the City of Miami ("City"); and
WHEREAS, events such as Taste of Karnival foster economic development by
supporting local restaurants, chefs, artists, and small businesses, while also promoting tourism,
cultural understanding, and community pride within the City;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF
MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are
adopted by reference and incorporated as if fully set forth in this Section.
Section 2. The Funds previously allocated to the Jazz Festival are hereby reallocated to
the Taste of Karnival to be held on Northeast 2nd Avenue from 55th Street to 62nd Street, Miami,
Florida, on April 12, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM.
Section 3. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon its adoption and
signature of the Mayor.'
1 If the Mayor does not sign this Resolution, it shall become effective at the end of ten (10) calendar days
from the date it was passed and adopted. If the Mayor vetoes this Resolution, it shall become effective
immediately upon override of the veto by the City Commission.
