SPONSOR(S): Commissioner Christine King WHEREAS, the City of Miami ("City") has a deep interest in supporting residents who have an interest in and promoting Caribbean culture; and WHEREAS, the City is dedicated to producing a safe, family -fun festival and multicultural programming in an artistic atmosphere, fostering community pride and civic involvement among persons of Caribbean descent, while promoting tourism for economic development; and WHEREAS, the Taste of Kamival ("Event") will feature Haitian artists, chefs, entrepreneurs and creative expression celebrating Caribbean cuisine, art, music and community story telling on April 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, on Northeast 2nd Avenue From 55th Street To 62nd Street, Miami, Florida ("Event Site"); and WHEREAS, the City Commission recognizes the significance of hosting Taste of Karnival in the City and wishes to express its financial commitment through in -kind support for the Event; and WHEREAS, the City Manager is requesting authority from the City Commission to negotiate and execute any and all documents and legal instruments necessary, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for said Event; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA: Section 1. The recitals and findings contained in the Preamble of this Resolution are adopted by reference and incorporated herein as if fully set forth in this Section. Section 2. The Taste of Karnival Event will be held on April 12, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 12:00 AM, at the Event Site. Section 3. The provision of in -kind services from the Departments of Fire -Rescue, Police, Solid Waste, and Parks and Recreation in an amount not to exceed Fifty Thousand AND 00/100 Dollars ($50,000.00) for Miami Karnival 2025 is hereby authorized.' Section 4. The City Manager is further authorized1 to execute any and all documents and legal instruments necessary, all in forms acceptable to the City Attorney, for said Purpose. Section 5.
