COMMISSION OP THE CITY OP MIAMI THAT PENSIONS
PAID TO RETIRED EMPLOYEES OP THE CITY OP
MIAMI EE REVIEWED NOT LATER THAN 'JY 1ST
OP EACH YEAR BY THE CITY MANAGER IN 'ORDER
To DtTERMINE WtitTHER AN ADJUSTMENT IS APPRO-
PRIATE BECAUSE OP A CHANGE IN THE COST OP
LINING, AND, IP IT IS DtTERMINEb THAT AN
ADJUSTMENT IS APPROPRIATE, DETERMINING THE
APPROPRIATE AMOUNT Or THE ADJUSTMENT AND
SUBMITTING HIS FINDINGS AND RECOMMENDATIONS
TO THE COMMISSION FOR AN APPRIATE ADJUSTMENT
TO BE MADE.
WHEREAS, the maintenance of a loyal force of city
employees is essential to the order and well being of the
citizens of this municipality; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission has constantly expressed
concern for city employees and the problems faced by these
its
employees; and
WHEREAS, it is only through genuine and continuing
consideration for the city employee before and after his or her
retirement that the city is able to achieve a high retention
level of city employees on its work force;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. It is the intent of the Commission of
the City of Miami that pensions paid to retired employees of
the City of Miami be reviewed not later than July 1st of
each year by the City Manager in order to determine whether
an adjustment is appropriate because of a change in the cost
of living, and, if it is determined that an adjustment is
apprpriate, determining the appropriate amount of the adjust-
