THE DEPARTMENT or SANITATioNi
*WHEREAS, the operation of the City of IVIiarnits 20th Street
incinerator will continue until it has been replaced by the construction of
a proposed solid waste transfer plant; and
WHEREAS, it is estimated that it will be approximately 18
months before the new solid waste transfer plant will be ready for
operation; and
WHEREAS, funds have been provided from Federal Revenue
Sharing funds by Ordinance No, 8345, Item 12, in the amount of $81, 300
for Department of Sanitation equipment; and
WHEREAS, the City Manager recommends the rebuilding of 2
City -owned truck tractors to assure the continuance of proper sanitation
services to the City of Miami. citizens;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA:
Section 1. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to utilize
up to $31, 300 to accomplish the rebuilding of 2 City -owned truck tractors
either by contract or by use of City forces to serve as ash trailer tractors
for use by the Department of Sanitation.
