LIBRARY SYSTEM BY. bECREASING THE NUMbtk OF
MEMBERS FROM 11 MEMBERS TO 3,MEM8E118; AND BY
PROVIDING FOR A THREE (3) YEAR TERM FOR SAID
MEMBERS TO COMMENCE SEPTEMBER S, 1975: RED
PEAL/NO ALL ORDINANCES, OR PARTS. OF. ORDINANCES
IN CONFLICT HEREWITH; CONTAINING A SEVERABILITY
PROVISION AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE bATE.
BE IT ORDAINED By THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF MIAMI,
FLORIDA:
Section 1. Section 2973 of the Code of the City of
Miami, Florida be, and is hereby, amended as follows: 1/
Sec. 29-3. Board of trustees Created; appointment
and . terms of office of members.
There is hereby created a board of trustees of
the public libraries and public library system of
the city consisting of elevee three members to be
appointed.by.a majority vote of the city commission.
Afte -the-empirat}eR-e6-the-pFeeeat-teEms; (T)he
trustees shall be-appeiRted-aed hold office for a.
period of three years with the first term commencing
September 5, 1975 and will serve until their
successors are duly elected and .qualified.
Section 2. All ordinances, code sections or parts
thereof in conflict herewith, insofar as they are in conflict,
are hereby repealed.
Section 3. Should any part or provision of this
ordinance be declared by a court of competent jurisdiction to
be invalid, the same shall not affect the validity of the
ordinance as a whole, or any part thereof, other than the part
declared to be invalid.

words constitute the amendment proposed. Remaining
provisions are now in effect and remain unchanged,
Section.h. This ordinance is hereby declared to be an
emergency measure oh the ground of urgent public heed for the

Section S. The regtiirement of reading this ordinance
on two separate days is•hereby dispensed with by a vote of not
less than four -fifths of the members of the commission.
Section 6. The provisions of this ordinance shall become
