Of imrrtedia.te concern is /term No. 4 embodied in Motion No. 75- 2? which provides for the establishtnettt of an Advisory Board. It is recog- nized that the Advisory Board will have an important function in developing and carrying out an Affirmative Action Program for the City Recommen- dations are advanced to the City Commission for appointments to the Advisory Board, however, the confirmation of such Board will take place at the Meeting of September 4. Therefore, the requirement listed in Item No. 14 of the Commission's Motion will be acted upon immediately after the City Commission impanels the Board. The City Manager recommends that the Affirmative Action Advisory Board be composed of nine members as follows: 5 Appointed by the City Commission. 1 1 The Executive Secretary to the Civil Service Board. (This would provide for the entire Civil Service Board to become involved in the Affirmative Action process.) Employee selected from the uniformed Civil Service, i.e., Police and Fire. Employee selected from employees other than uni- formed fire and police officers. The two individuals who would be City Service should be other than nation officers and/or should not Civil Service Board. Should the foregoing recommendations be acceptable to the City Commissiorip it it suggested that, at the September 4, 1975, City Corritnission Meeting, the Cettntnitsien can tnake its appointments to the Affirmative Action Advisory board.
