BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF

Section 1. That, in accordance with the provisio s

of Section 8 of the City Charter (Chapter 10847, Laws of Florida,
1925, as amended) a non -partisan Primary Election is hereby
directed to be held in the City of Miami at the polling places
designated, as hereinafter set forth in Attachment #1 hereof, to
be held on November 4, 1975, from 7:00 o'clock A.M. until
7:00 o'clock P.M,, Eastern Daylight Time, on the 4th day of
November, 1975, said date being the first Tuesday after the first
Monday in November, 1975, for the purpose of nominating candidates
for the offices of Mayor and two Commissioners of the City of Miami,
to be voted upon at the Regular Municipal Election which is to be
held on the second Tuesday after the first Monday in November,
1975, as provided in said Section 8 of the City Charter, unless
in the Primary Election a candidate receives a majority vote in

Section 2. That in the event a Regular Municipal
election is required to be held on November 11, 1975, then and
in that event a Regular Municipal tlection is hereby directed
to be held in the City of Miami at the polling places designated
to be used on Ncvember 4, 1975, from 700 o'clock A.M. until
7:00 o'clock P.M., Eastern Daylight Time, on the llth day of
November, 1975, said date being the second Tuesday after the
first Monday in November, 1975, for the purpose of electing a
Mayor and two Commissioners of the City of Miami, unless a
candidate receives a majority vote in his particular group at
the non -partisan Primary Election held on November 4, 1975.
The candidate who shall receive the highest number of votes
in Group I shall serve as Mayor for a term of two (2) years
from 12:00 o'clock Noon of the date after the canvass of the
vote and the declaration of the results of said election; the
candidates who shall receive the highest number of votes in
Groups II and III shall serve as Commissioners of the City of
Miami for a period of four (4) years from 12:00 o'clock Noon
of the day after the canvass of the vote and the declaration
of the results of said election.
The Clerks and Inspectors to serve at said polling
places on said date shall be those designated by Metropolitan
Dade County for such purpose. The registration books and records

Eection 3, That, ih accordance with the provisions
of the general laws of Florida and Chapter 15of the .Code of.the
City of Miami, persons qualified to vote instch ton -partisan

arid Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Miami, or who'have trans
ferred their legal residence from one Voting precinct to another •
voting precinct in the City of Miami, may register at branch offices

That in addition to the above times and places, the Supervisor of
Elections shall make available the mobile registration van for the
purpose of registration of the City of Miami residents for the
herein described election, said times and places of registration
to be determined and published as required by law by the Supervisor
of Elections. Said registration shall be conducted by the Supervisor
of Elections of Metropolitan Dade County, Florida under and subject
Of Plorida and Chapter 15

OFFICES OF MAYOR AND TWO COMMISSIONERS
OF THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
NOVEMBER 4, 1975
A non -partisan Primary Election will be held on
November 4, 1975 from 7:00 o'clock A.M. until 7:00 o'clock P.M.
Eastern Daylight Time, in the City of Miami, Florida at the
polling places set forth below, at which election the qualified
electors participating therein will vote for the nomination of
candidates for the offices of Mayor and two Commissioners of
the City of Miami, to be voted on at the Regular Municipal
Election which is to be held on the second Tuesday after the
'first Monday in November of 1975, unless in the Primary Election
a candidate receives a majority vote in his group, in which case
he shall be elected to the office of the group for which he is a
candidate,

Por the purpose of enabling persons to register who
are qualified to vote in said non -partisan Primary Election to

and Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Miami or who have trans-
ferred
voting
branch
their legal residence from one voting precinct to another
precinct in the City, they may register at a permanent

The City Clerk shall prepare the ballot so that the
naves of the qualified eandidates will appear on said ballot in
alphabetical order according to surname in each group; provided,
however, that the ballot and its preparation shall be such as to
permit compliance with the lasts of the State of Florida with
respect to the use of meachnical voting machines.
Section 7. That the Supervisor of Elections of
Metropolitan Dade County is hereby informed and notified that
the City oE Miami desires to use for holding such nonpartisan
Primary Election on November 4, 1975, and such Regular Municipal
Election on November 11, 1975, the registration cards described
and called "official registration cards" in the general laws of
Florida and Chapter 15 of the Code of the City of Miami, said
registration cards to include the cards of all registered elec-
tors of the City of Miami in the precincts hereinbefore designated.
Section 8.
That H. D. Southern, City Clerk of the
City of Miami, is hereby designated and appointed as the official
representative of the Commission in all transactions with the
Supervisor of Elections of Metropolitan Dade County in relation
to matters pertaining to the use of such registration books and
records for holding such non -partisan Primary Election and such
Regular Municipal Election.
Section 9. That the City Clerk is hereby authorized
and directed to cause a certified copy of this resolution to be
delivered to the Supervisor of Elections of Metropolitan Dade
County not less than forty-five (45) days prior to the date of
such Primary Election.
Section 10. That in the event Metropolitan Dade
County, Florida holds an election on November 4, 1975, or on
November 11, 1975, the City Clerk of the City of Miami is hereby
