A RESOLUTION STRONGLY UROINO THE ROARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS '`OP METROPOLITAN AN DADE COUNTY TO
CREATE SPECIAL TAX/NO b/ST tCTS F01'THE SPECIFIC
SERVICES WHICH DIRECTLY BENEFIT PROPERTY OR RESI-
DENTS IN UNINCORPORATED AREAS. AND POR ANY EXPANSION
THEREOF, INSTEAD OF REQUIRINO CITIZENS OP THE CITY
aF MIAMI TO ASSUME THE DtEN OF PAYING FOR THESE
SERVICES WHICH DO NOT DIRECTLY EENE?IT THE CITIZENS
OF MIAMI.
WHEREAS, the Doard of County Commissioners of
Metropolitan Dade County is about to consider a proposal to
expand the services of the County Fire Department and the Depart-
ment of Public Safety of Dade County; and
WHEREAS, none of the residents of the City of Miami
who are also taxpaying citizens of Metropolitan Dade County will
receive any benefit from any expanded services of the Metropolitan
Dade County Fire Department or the Metropolitan Dade County
Department of Public Safety as proposed; and
WHEREAS, the City Commission of the City of Miami, on
May 8, 1975, passed Resolution No. 75-466 identifying services
rendered specifically for the benefit of the property or resi-
dents in unincorporated areas and financed from county -wide
revenue; and "DOCUMENT INDEX
WHEREAS, the Fire Department of Metropolitan Dade County
and the Department of Public Safety of Metropolitan Dade County
are two of the departments so identified;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COMMISSION OF
THE CITY OF MIAMI, FLORIDA
Section 1, The Board of County Commissioners of
Metropolitan Dade County is hereby strongly urged to create
special taxing districts for the specific services which directly
