As prescribed by Section 60 of the Charter, the Civil Service nbard
has had included in its membership two employees with Civil Service
status; traditionally, those employees have been a -uniformed police or
fire officer and a general employee with Civil. Service status.
Item No. 38 oh the Slily 31, 1975, City Commission Agenda is a pro-
posed Charter change that would formally specify that the employee
representation on the Civil Service Board would be as outlined above.
Upon communicating with the City Attorney's Office, the City Manager
is advised that inasmuch as the Charter specifies that the Civil Service
Board members should include two employees with Civil Service status,
it is within the purview of the City Commission to accomplish by reso-
lution what is outlined in the proposed Charter change. Therefore, the
City Attorney has been requested to prepare an appropriate resolution
for City Commission consideration.
